The hydras drop the same junk that the Droks trolls drop. Don't expect to get any gold items off of them.
Quite the contrary, actually. Every run I do, I get at least one, if not more gold weapon drops. Often times gold Flamberages and other such "rare" skins. Granted, it takes a while to COMPLETELY clear skyward reach of all hydras, but its worth it.

I got my first 15%>50 longsword and 15%>50 axe farming hydras (about a year ago). Anyways, golds definitely drop there. Salvaged some good mods from drops there as well...

Dont know how it is these days. Been farming there long time ago before the protective bond nerf (ideal 105/55 build without recasting PS, hell, it was even without PS ). Back then the drops were insane: a lot of goldens and purples each run.

I ll give it a try soon when the lag is not annoying me that is

I go there once in a while to farm with my 55 SS Necro.
Very nice and long run though if you go all the way around.
Start from Augury and make a circle all the way to go back to Augury again.

You get golds in there once in a while. The Claws are nice since they salvage to scales. So you can salvage them or just sell them.
